James just a little note to say thank you so much for all your hard work, you were amazing, you worked tirelessly for us for weeks installing dormer windows and velux, all the roof work, second fix skirting and architrave, wooden floors, internal doors the lot, and even when I kept adding on "small jobs" like fixing my sitting room floor, you did it, you were professional, tidy, a perfectionist and a complete godsend!!! You gave us advice and solutions when we had no idea what we were at, if all tradesmen were like you it would be great. I had been aware of James Aherne's work and reputation for a number of years before I took the opportunity to start working with him early last year.
Before starting any job or project we inspected the site and discussed in detail the aspects of the work that needed to be carried out and a time-frame for the same. James would then email me a detailed quote which I would then include in my own quote to the client.
This is a big help from my point of view as once we agreed a price James would be punctual, efficient and courteous. He is a highly capable and skilled carpenter and describes what he is going to do each day. The satisfaction for me is that he actually does do that.

I cannot recommend AK Carpentry enough. We decided on some major renovation work on our house a few months ago. Included in this work was an attic conversion. We found James and his team to be extremely professional and helpful at all times.
James was always on hand to answer any queries or help with any worries or questions that we had. Our calls were always answered promptly and no problem was too big or too small.
Although the scale of the work was large we always found that at the end of each day the team had been very conscious that we were living in the house while this work was progressing and they did their very best to leave each work area in the tidiest state possible.
The work also included a re design of the first floor and downstairs hall. We found that James had excellent design ideas and we are delighted at how the entire house turned out. The workmanship throughout was excellent and many friends have remarked on how fantastic the finish is.
